The shooting action

Here we will not give a shooting lesson, that is not the point. This would not make sense in the context of this book and this subject alone would require an entire book… or rather one for each area of shooting!

Instead, we will discuss the essential prerequisites on how to properly use of a weapon and as well as the basics that can constitute a “common core” for the different shooting practices. In a second step, we will discuss the dysfunctions frequently encountered in the context of the use of a weapon and which have passed into everyday language as “stops”, “jam” or “failure”. The understanding of the failure is very much linked to the shooting, because it will allow a safe resolution of the incidents without apprehension as well as the search for the underlying causes allowing a lasting solution to the malfunctions.

We will not return here to security considerations, but it nevertheless seems important to us to recall that this is a fundamental aspect of this practice. We therefore send the reader to Chapter 2 in case of questioning on this subject.
